Family Ministries & Community Outreach Pastor (Full-Time)

Christ’s Church Albany is seeking a full-time Family Ministries & Community Outreach Pastor to lead and grow our ministry with children, youth, and families—both within our church and throughout the city of Albany.
Position Overview
The Family Ministries & Community Outreach Pastor is a full-time staff position responsible for leading ministry with children, youth, young adults, supporting parents, and creating meaningful, engaging experiences that help kids know and love Jesus, each other, and the world. This role works with families already connected to Christ’s Church Albany as well as new guests, and plays a key role in extending care, presence, and blessing to children, youth, and parents across the city of Albany who are not yet part of our church.
A significant part of this role involves creative community engagement and outreach, including overseeing and developing events such as movie nights, egg hunts, and other family-friendly gatherings—often in partnership with community organizations and existing city events.
Please note: a portion of this position is grant-funded and includes responsibilities connected to community engagement and outreach.

setting.

● Ability to plan, organize, and execute large meaningful and engaging events.
● Demonstrated ability to bring diverse groups and leaders together around a shared
vision and goal.
Key Responsibilities Sunday & Ongoing Ministry
● Sunday Mornings: Organize and oversee engaging weekly Sunday morning experiences for children, including curriculum planning, lesson preparation, and volunteer coordination.
● Youth Ministry: Organize and lead engaging weekly or biweekly experiences for middle school and high school youth, including curriculum planning, lesson preparation, and volunteer coordination. Currently these gatherings are Thursday nights and Sunday mornings with additional special events throughout the year.
● Young Adult Ministry: Development of new programings/groups to support young adults.
Leadership & Team Development
● Oversee recruitment, training, scheduling, and supporting of volunteers across all areas: Elementary, Preschool, Nursery, Security, Youth, and Events.
● Supervise and manage children's and youth administrator.
● Foster a culture of joy, excellence, and shared ownership among leaders and volunteers.
● Development bridges between ministries that connect each individual as they grow in the
church family.
Parents & Communication
● Serve as a primary point of connection for parents—both those already part of Christ’s Church Albany and new guests.
● Communicate clearly and consistently with kids, parents, volunteers, and the wider church community.
Community Engagement & Outreach
● Create and oversee opportunities to bless and engage children, youth, and families in the city of Albany who are not currently part of our church.
● Plan and lead community-focused events such as movie nights, egg hunts, and seasonal or neighborhood gatherings.
● Partner with local nonprofits, schools, and community groups, and collaborate with existing community events whenever possible.
● Carry out grant-funded responsibilities related to community engagement, reporting, and outcomes as required.
Policies, Safety & Systems
● Develop, implement, and oversee policies related to safety, security, training, and scheduling.
● Ensure all children’s and youth environments are safe, welcoming, and well-organized.

Weekly / Monthly Tasks Include
● Scheduling and communicating with volunteers.
● Leading and teaching in CCKIDS, middle school, high school and young adult ministries
as needed.
● Planning and executing kids and youth events in the community.
● Coordinating supplies and maintaining organized, well-stocked classrooms.
● Communicating with new visitors, parents, and volunteers.
● Providing training, encouragement, and ongoing support for volunteers.
Additional Responsibilities
● Overseeing background checks and maintaining up-to-date safety policies.
● Planning and leading team meetings, budget conversations, and ministry promotions.
● Supporting church-wide events, worship nights, holiday events. and community
gatherings as needed.

This role would:
Oversee our kids, youth, and young adult ministries within our church family.
Lead and help expand outreach initiatives focused on children, youth, and families in the broader community
View internal discipleship and external mission as two sides of the same calling
We are looking for a leader who sees youth ministry and city engagement not as separate tracks, but as one unified mission of forming disciples of Jesus.
The salary range for this position is $40,000–$50,000.
